Biography
Gin HUANG is a filmmaker and writer. His latest film, Go Home (2026), is an official selection of 2026 Leiden International Film Festival, one of the most important Dutch film festivals. His debut film, All About My Son (2024), had its world premiere at 2025 LGBT+ Film Festival Poland, the largest LGBT+ film festival in the country. Telling socially critical stories is Gin's specialty, as he was educated to be a journalist and an economist. He worked with The Economist Group for more than 10 years before switching to filmmaking. He was also a research assistant of monetary economics at Goethe University Frankfurt while pursuing a doctoral degree, as well as an analyst of semiconductor equities at a boutique firm in Manhattan. Growing up in Taipei, Taiwan, Gin now lives in the Netherlands. When he is not traveling, he is watching a film (most likely a world-cinema one), which is his means to travel far. Iranian cinema is his favourite and he looks forward to visiting Persia one day.
